Hopefully, there’s no malware on your Mac, but if there is, MacKeeper will take care of it. If anything malicious is found, let MacKeeper remove it for you.Wait while MacKeeper searches your Mac for malicious files.Run MacKeeper, and select Antivirus from the menu on the left.Should you find yourself in such a situation, it might help to run an antivirus scan with MacKeeper to see if that’s the cause or not. But sadly, it’s also true that problems like this can be caused by malware, either deliberately or as an unintentional side effect. If you’re lucky, your Mac cursor is frozen by something minor. Naturally, any issues related to the cursor cause a lot of frustration and halt whatever work you do when they happen. A generic user most probably has no clue how to use the command line, and therefore requires a mouse or a trackpad in order to use their tech. So far, it appears that no other programs are affected by this, so this leads me to believe it is an issue with Word. The cursor is absolutely essential in operating a computer to pretty much anyone. I was able to disable all items but priority items on system startup, but know that she still needs to be running anti-virus software. She was having troubles with slow load-up of Windows. I think it was something in the bundle, but how do I determine what it was and what is safe to disable and what is not? SHe is reluctant to remove virus software, which I understand. She thinks they may got the McAfee when they stated using DSL, but isn't sure, but the problems stated when they got the DSL. She is running Norton Anti-virus and McAfee, which I think is more anti-virus software than she needs. I'm smart enough to know that this may be the issue, but do not know enough how to fix it. Word 97 froze when I tried to load it, so I think there is a conflict within the software already on the computer, or an issue with drivers. Sometimes she can create new documents, but they don't always save.

She can open documents but cannot edit them. I have done a registry scan, tried uninstalling and reinstalling Word, even tried installing an older version of Office (97) thinking there might be a conflict or drain on the computer's resources due to the age of the computer.

She has problems with the cursor freezing when she tries to use Word 2002. I haven't used Windows 98 in a while and am trying to troubleshoot some issues for a friend.
